Why We Don't Do Fake Discounts

Why We Don't Do Fake Discounts

You've seen it before: a crossed-out price next to a permanent "64% off." If that discount is always on, the crossed-out number was never real, it's a manufactured anchor designed to make the sale price look better than it is.

Why this matters to us specifically

This category runs on trust more than most. Someone deciding whether to buy an intimate wellness product for the first time is already doing a certain amount of research and second-guessing. A pricing trick that a shopper catches, and category-savvy shoppers usually do catch it, undoes a lot of the credibility we're trying to build everywhere else.

What we're doing about it

We're moving away from permanent strikethrough pricing across the site. Where we do run a genuine sale, it will have a real start and end date, and the "before" price will be a price the product actually sold at.

What this means for you

The price you see is the price. No mental math, no wondering if the "deal" is actually a deal. If we ever get this wrong somewhere on the site, tell us, we'd rather fix it than defend it.
