The instructions that come in the box are usually one line. Here's the fuller version, and why each step matters.
Before first use, and every use after
Rinse with warm water and a mild, water-based toy cleaner, even on a brand new product. Manufacturing and shipping aren't sterile processes.
Lubricant matters more than people think
Use water-based lubricant with silicone products. Silicone-based lubricant can react with silicone material and degrade the surface over time, this isn't a minor detail, it genuinely shortens the life of the product.
After use
Rinse again, then let it air dry completely before putting it away. Storing anything damp is how bacteria and material breakdown both start.
Storage
A dedicated pouch, away from direct sunlight, and not touching other silicone items. Two silicone surfaces in prolonged contact can bond to or degrade each other, the pouch isn't just packaging, it's doing a real job.
Charging ports and waterproofing
Check your specific product's waterproof rating before submerging it. If you're not sure, wipe down instead of rinsing, and keep the charging port covered and dry.
