Lubricant isn't an optional extra, it reduces friction, discomfort, and the risk of small tears in delicate skin. Which type to use depends mostly on what you're pairing it with.
Water-based
Safe with every material, including silicone products and latex condoms. It's thinner and needs reapplying more often, but it's the universally safe default, and the only kind we recommend for any silicone product.
Silicone-based
Lasts longer and works well for water play, but it degrades silicone material over time through repeated contact. Fine for skin-to-skin use or with non-silicone products, not fine for your silicone toys.
Oil-based
Not compatible with latex condoms, and not something we'd recommend pairing with silicone products either. Mostly relevant for skin-to-skin use without a condom.
The simple rule
If you own silicone products, keep a water-based lubricant on hand and treat it as the default. It's the one option that's safe with everything.
